South Jersey Spotlight on Esther Greenberg, Massage Therapist

Lamb Chop sez, "You too can be as happy as me after getting a massage from Esther Greenberg!"

As promised, I’m launching a blog post that (hopefully) will frequent my wee blip on the webosphere radar screen once a month. I tend to be loyal to those who help me by providing friendship, good karma, meaningful strategic connections, and warm project leads/referrals. Using my blog as the conduit, I proudly produce the results of my first “South Jersey Spotlight” interview with Esther Greenberg. She’s a massage therapist like no other whom I’ve gotten to know better through my membership in the Yentas in Business networking group.

By All Writes: Why did you decide to start your business and when did you start it?

Esther Greenberg:  I decided to start my own business for one very simple reason: I wanted to work with people on a personal level and help them realize how massage can lead them to a better life! After suffering from migraines for over 20 years, just one visit to a massage therapist changed my life forever – it gave me the relief I so desperately needed. Chiropractors hadn’t been able to help me and medications didn’t work, but once my “knots”/trigger points were untangled, my migraines were gone. Convinced that massage is one of the best-kept secrets for improving physical health and relieving stress, I started my “second” career in 2005. I am a proud graduate of the Rizzieri School for the Healing Arts in Marlton, NJ, and I maintain my private practice in Mount Laurel, NJ.

BAW: What services do you offer your current and potential clients in the South Jersey area?

EG: My  specialties are stress relief, pain management, trigger point therapy, sports massage (for my more athletic ladies), and maternity massage. Other massage modalities I offer include: Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT), myofascial release, reflexology, stretching/Thai movements, elderly massage, hot stone therapy, and Reiki. I’m also available to speak to groups of all sizes about the benefits of massage. Additionally, I enjoy working very closely with other health care professionals to offer their patients alternative pain and relaxation therapies.

BAW: Who makes a good client for you?

EG: I serve women of all ages who want to lead a better, healthier, and pain-free life. I’m particularly effective in helping women who suffer from headaches, chronic pain, sports injuries, whiplash, and fibromyalgia.

BAW: What is your ultimate “happy moment” when working with a client on your massage table?

EG: I positively glow when a client says to me after their massage, “This is the best massage I have ever had!” and then schedules their next appointment before leaving.

BAW: If you could relocate your business to anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?

EG: If I could be a massage therapist anywhere, it would have to be closer to where my parents live (in Israel), so I could take care of them and massage my mother every day to keep her happy!

BAW: What is your favorite book to read, and why is this one your favorite?

EG: One of my all-time favorite books is The Chosen, written by Chaim Potok. It’s a book that is intriguing, interesting, and fascinating. I love the story line and the plot. It’s a story very close to my heart, and my kids are now reading it in school. It’s a classic.
