To reap the results of personal marketing, you have to go Full Circle Networking; Rebecca Chalson will show you how…

I have Rebecca Chalson of Full Circle Networking to thank for teaching me that Periscope is more than a submerged submarine’s watchful eye.

My education regarding live-streaming on social media took place during one of Linda Lane’s fabulous Old Girls’ Network luncheons last summer (at Seasons 52 in Cherry Hill).

I subsequently attended Rebecca’s October 2015 “What Is Your Super Strength?” networking event at Cafe Aldo Lamberti. Her passion for connecting business owners and professionals with their appropriate kindred spirits was on fire that night!

Rebecca’s zeal for transforming online encounters into real-world business relationships will compel you to add Full Circle Networking to your prospecting arsenal:

By All Writes: Why did you decide to found Full Circle Networking? When did you start/found it?

Rebecca Chalson: I moved to New Jersey for a job promotion as a regional sales trainer with a large company about three years ago. Five months later, I was one of many people laid off nationwide. Ironically, this was fortunate timing!

Through the process of trying to create better connections in the local business community, I realized that many professionals shared my networking challenge. Connecting with other professionals online is convenient, but it can be impersonal and convoluted. How I wished I had a “networking concierge” to help me initiate effective face-to-face interactions.

I was looking for a “warm handshake” into the South Jersey business community–“Where ONLINE contacts become OFFLINE CONNECTIONS!” Thankfully, I met some true connectors along the way, but two years later, my networking strategy still felt scattered.

I imagined how great it would be to have a supportive community BUILT BY connectors: many networking resources, events, and venues under one roof. It could be a place where professionals feel supported, establish strategic partnerships, and cross-promote.

Going “full circle” means to complete a cycle, and that’s exactly what Full Circle Networking (FCN) helps professionals do.

BAW: What specific business-networking services and opportunities do you offer your clients and South Jersey/Philadelphia business professionals?

RC: As founder of Full Circle Networking, I encourage professionals to join our online social network so they can quickly and effectively connect to the local business community. With the Full Circle Passport, they create an online profile highlighting their strengths, passions, and authenticity.

Our FCN monthly mixers also help members transform their online contacts into offline connections. In fact, our interactive icebreakers give attendees the opportunity to establish reliable referral partners while having fun!

In addition to offering one-on-one consulting, I also facilitate the following workshops:

  • Personal Branding
  • Authentic Networking
  • Strong Sphere of Influences
  • Strategic Networking
  • Positive Reinforcement
  • Organizational Skills
  • Resources That Are Cost Effective
  • Training in Social-Media Marketing

My signature service: I attend networking events as a “personal networking concierge,” either on behalf of clients or in tandem with them. I research the guest list (if available) in advance to determine ideal referral partners. I also help construct an engaging elevator pitch, show clients how to master “working the room,” and create follow-up correspondence templates for their use.

BAW: Who makes a good client for you?

RC: Full Circle Networking tends to attract individuals who want a more personable, organized, guided, and cost-effective approach to marketing. Yes, I’ll be their springboard by connecting them to viable professional resources. But I’ll also be their accountability partner, motivator, and cheerleader.

I also work with industry-specific organizations that require their employees (or contractors) to market themselves locally for prospecting purposes. Professions/organizations that benefit from my strategic-networking workshops include real estate brokers, insurance agencies, law firms, and accounting firms.

BAW: What is your ultimate “happy moment” when working with your clients and other South Jersey and Philadelphia “networkers?”

RC: I love connecting individuals and businesses so they can reach their best potential! My “happy moment,” whether it happens during a group event or with a client one-on-one, is when I see the results of positive transformation.

Marketing isn’t about selling a product or service–it’s about how we CONNECT with our target market. This is where networking comes in; we must make a personal impact. Ultimately, you are your own product and brand…

BAW: If you could relocate Full Circle Networking to anywhere in the world, where would you go, and why?

RC: I’m interested in taking Full Circle Networking wherever there’s a need for it.

Whether it’s college students who want to connect with the business-networking community, or individuals starting new careers, or professionals interested in expanding their sphere of influences, I want to be wherever FCN can offer the most support.

An online social network naturally allows me to help many more people connect with their local business community. Essentially, I don’t need to relocate to establish a national presence, which is convenient. Thank you, technology!

BAW: What are your favorite books (or who are your favorite authors to read), and why?

RC: My ultimate “business manual” is a Tony Robbins book: Awaken the Giant Within: How to Take Immediate Control of Your Mental, Emotional, Physical and Financial Destiny! This book jump-started my journey into reaching greater self-awareness and a sense of purpose.

When I was laid off several years ago, it was this book (and others like it) that steered me out of my depression and defensive “survival mode.” Only then could I be personally responsible for the important task of reviving my life and career.

One of my favorite quotes in the Robbins book is credited to the Buddha:

“We are what we think. All that we are arises With our thoughts. With our thoughts, We make our world.”
